Thanks to its accessibility and guided tours, it is ideal for exploring with family or friends, with spectacular routes inside, even when the heat is on the coast.

Take note of these schedules, prices, and availability for guided tours

The Cueva del Rull is open all year except from January 15 to February 14, and the schedules vary according to the season, from April to September it has a schedule from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, from March to October from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and from November to closing from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Learn about its history and how this geological formation arose

The history of the Cueva del Rull is worthy of a movie. It was discovered in 1919 almost by accident when a local hunter, Vicente Mengual Mas, nicknamed “el tío Rull”, was chasing a rabbit that hid in a hole. The man, far from abandoning his hunt, began to dig and found a monumental cavern.

In the 60s, seeing the rise of tourism, “el tío Rull” decided to condition it for the public, although it was from the 90s when the city council rehabilitated and modernized it, making it safe for visitors.

Geologically, the cave was formed more than 5 million years ago, in the middle of the Miocene era, during what we can consider the “adolescence” of the planet. It is c omposed of calcareous conglomerates, where water has been eroding, dissolving, and depositing minerals, giving rise to a spectacle of stalagmites, stalagmites, and other forms.

The different forms of the cave stimulate the imagination of all audiences, from children to adults, some have even seen the odd monster in its forms.

But the magic is not only in the figures traced in its stones, but in its temperature, which is around 15ºC, with very high humidity. So if you are one of those who sweat just by moving an eyebrow, here you can completely disguise it, because everyone will be the same as you.
