If you’re coming to Dénia and you’re simply after comfort and an easy swim, Les Marines is your area. It’s the northern stretch of the coastline and it brings together many of the most practical beaches for a full day out.
Here you’ll find names like Punta del Raset, Les Marines, Les Bovetes, Els Molins, L’Almadrava and Les Deveses. In general, these are more open beaches, with sand and easier access than the coves in the south.
Comfortable beaches for families and relaxed plans
Punta del Raset is one of the most convenient options if you’re close to the town centre. It’s the first sandy beach north of the town, with easy access—ideal for family time, relaxing, or doing some sport.
Les Bovetes is also a great option for families. It has sand, services, walkways, lifeguards, and a setup that makes it easy to stay for hours without constantly worrying about what you’re missing.
Les Marines is another safe bet if you want a wide beach without too many surprises. This beach stretches for almost 3 kilometres, with plenty of space to set up your umbrella and enjoy fine sand by the sea.
Beaches with more atmosphere and services for a full day out
If you want to spend the whole day, you need more than pretty sand. You need showers, lifeguards, places nearby to eat, sunbed rentals, and access that doesn’t make you question your life choices.
In that case, Les Marines, Les Bovetes and Punta del Raset are usually very practical options. They’re busier beaches, with more services and more atmosphere in high season.

Dénia changes quite a bit as you head down towards Les Rotes. Here, sand gives way to rock, the landscape turns into a wilder Mediterranean scene, and swimming calls for a different pace.
Les Rotes is located south of the town centre, about 1.5 kilometres away, and includes rocky coves such as El Trampolí. What stands out here is its cobblestone seafront promenade, which runs along these coves and continues towards Punta Negra.
This side of Dénia is perfect if you want snorkelling, beautiful views, and a less classic beach experience. That said, it’s worth coming a bit more prepared than usual.
Coves to switch off and do your own thing
El Trampolí, Punta Negra, Les Arenetes or La Cala are common names when people talk about Les Rotes. These are areas where the water usually looks amazing, especially when the sea is calm.
Les Rotes is a shingle-and-rock beach, 3,200 metres long, with calm waters and easy access on foot or by car. It also notes that it’s a semi-urban area, with services such as foot showers, bins and cleaning.
Here, the plan changes. Bring water shoes, snorkelling goggles, some water, and a light backpack. If you want to watch fish, swim at an easy pace, and feel like the landscape has more character, Les Rotes is well worth it.
Activities and services on Dénia’s coast so you’re not stuck on your towel
Dénia isn’t just about pure relaxation. And sure, lying down and having a swim is great. But if one day you feel like getting moving, the coast has plenty to offer.
- On the sandy beaches you can do sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, beach volleyball, or gentler family activities. Some beaches in Les Marines are very convenient for these kinds of plans.
- Dénia is also known for its connection to water sports. Areas like Les Deveses or Punta del Raset are often mentioned as some of the best for windsurfing and kitesurfing when conditions are right.
- In Les Rotes, the star activity is usually snorkelling. There’s no need to overcomplicate it. With goggles, water shoes and a bit of patience, you can really enjoy it if the water is clear.
- To get around the coastline, Dénia has local buses connecting the centre with the beaches of Les Marines and Les Rotes, as well as taxis and services adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The first tip isn’t very epic, but it works: choose the beach based on the day, not on its reputation.
- If you’re going with kids, look for sand, services and easy access. If you want snorkelling, go for rock. If you want to spend hours without moving, prioritise showers, shade, beach bars and nearby toilets. If you just want a quick dip at the end of the afternoon, there’s no need to cross half the town.
- It’s also worth getting up early in July and August. Not to make you suffer, but because the beach changes a lot when you arrive early. Parking is easier, you’ll find a spot, and the heat hasn’t started a fight yet.
- Always check the flag before you swim. Dénia has lifeguard services on the main beaches during the season, but the sea decides. If there’s a red flag, it’s time for a walk, an ice cream or a terrace. It’s not time to play the hero.
- And if you’re going to Les Rotes, bring water shoes. We’re repeating it because someone always forgets and ends up walking over the rocks with a look of regret.
